Our Story: From Bob the Builder to Construction Finney
Welcome to Construction Finney’s official blog and first ever blog post! We thank you immensely for being here from the very beginning of our journey.
Construction Finney is a Montreal-based family business founded in 2022 by three passionate young Montrealers. Our story is one of dreams, determination, and a shared love for creating beautiful spaces.
It all started with a dream. Olan Finney, our Plasterer and President, had always been fascinated by construction and renovation. As a child, he would spend hours watching Bob the Builder, playing with construction toys and dreaming about the day he could build projects of his own. Fast forward a few years, and Olan's dedication and talent in plastering began to shine as he joined the trade and started his studies at l’École des Métiers de la Construction de Montréal. He quickly impressed his mentors and professors during his professional training, and his high-quality work, artistic flair, and attention to detail soon became his trademarks, earning him accreditations such as the recognition of ornamental plasterer at the Conseil des Métier d’Arts du Québec (CMAQ).
While Olan was perfecting his craft, I, Loïc Christie, Vice-President of Business Development, was nurturing my passion for entrepreneurship while earning a bachelor’s degree at the John Molson School of Business. I was always keen on finding new learning opportunities and have a genuine love for meeting new people. The idea of starting my own business was a long-held dream, and when the opportunity to create a family business with my brother, Olan, arose, I knew it was a golden opportunity to create something truly amazing.
With our combined passions and skills, Construction Finney was born. We specialize in artistic, ornamental, and architectural plastering, and our mission is to bring a fresh perspective to the world of construction in Quebec. Our goal is to make construction simple, stress-free, and seamless for everyone. From the initial idea to the final result, we want the process to be as painless and enjoyable as possible.
